Hand in Hand: Center for Jewish-Arab Education in Israel builds peace through a network of integrated, bilingual, multicultural schools.
Nearly 1,000 students are enrolled at Hand in Hand’s four campuses (Jerusalem, Wadi Ara, Beersheva and the Galilee). Classrooms are balanced equally between Jewish and Arab students, and are taught by Jewish and Arab teachers in both Arabic and Hebrew. Students learn to treasure their own cultures, religions and history, while respecting and understanding the differences of others.
Since the first classrooms were opened in 1997, the program has grown steadily, creating a new and viable form of partnership, dialogue and coexistence between Arabs and Jews.
