The State Arboretum of Virginia is part of the University of Virginia's Blandy Experimental Farm located on Rt. 50, 10 miles east of Winchester.
The Arboretum displays more than 5,000 trees and woody shrubs, including one third of the world’s pine species, the Virginia Native Plant Trail, the Boxwood Memorial Garden, a spectacular grove of more than 300 ginkgo trees, and an herb garden featuring culinary, medicinal and ornamental herbs.
The Arboretum is open to the public 365 days a year from dawn to dusk, and is free of charge. The Foundation of the State Arboretum supports the programs and activities of the Arboretum, and provides vital financial support through contributions and volunteer services.
